Beginnings of a DeFi Ecosystem | The Radix Blog | Radix DLT

When we released the first version of Scrypto in December for our earliest developer pioneers, we also created the Radix DeFi Ecosystem page. This was our way of showing that even the early form of Scrypto was ready for our developer community to start laying the first stones of the foundation of mainstream-ready DeFi.
They got to work, building in the Alexandria simulator, exploring what would be possible once Scrypto moves onto the Radix mainnet at the Babylon release. Those first stones have been laid, and we want to celebrate those first community builders making it happen.
Radix DeFi Trailblazers
Scrypto developers have been contributing to the DeFi ecosystem in two ways: announcing DeFi projects they intend to take live at Babylon release, and posting high quality open-source examples of how different DeFi dApps can be written in Scrypto code.
Let’s look first at the announced projects now on the Radix DeFi Ecosystem page, and what the creators had to say about them:
Ociswap (Decentralized Exchanges category)
Blazing the way for easy swaps at global scale, Ociswap is the first pairwise decentralized exchange in the special meow-y way that will be launched at the Radix Babylon release.
Building exclusively on the future-proof Radix network with drastically reduced risk for hacks and exploits allows us to provide super easy, always fast and safe swaps at near zero cost.
Adept (DAOs & Governance category)
Adept is a platform that empowers digital creators to build their own decentralized communities. We take a “user first” approach focusing on providing users with all the necessary tools and components to build and manage their own community.
Radish Eco(NFTs category)
Radish aims to innovate the application of digital assets by utilizing Scrypto’s composability within a friendly environment where creators can unleash their ideas!
Raduel (Games, NFT categories)
A 2D MMORPG that brings together gaming and player owned assets. Play how you want: Explore, Build, Skill, PvE, PvP, Craft, Forge Alliances, Conquer, whilst having the ability to transfer in, out, and mint your own items that can be used in-game.
And then we’ve got some impressive open-source blueprint examples to highlight. If you’re a developer, you have to check out this Scrypto code on Github (linked below) to see how asset-oriented DeFi is done.
ChainDEX(Decentralized Exchanges category) — By FR05T8YTE
ChainDEX is an order book exchange built for defi.
HareSwap (Decentralized Exchanges category) — By devmannic
HareSwap is a P2P DEX platform @devmannic created for the first Scrypto Challenge. Inspired by Airswap but unique to Radix. Transaction manifests and advanced Blueprints enable trading and customizable settlement of any resource on the Radix Ledger.
RaDEX(Decentralized Exchanges category) — By 0xOmar
RaDEX is a constant function AMM DEX protocol built on the Radix ledger using Scrypto: the smart contracts language of the Radix ledger. RaDEX is a reimagination of the Uniswap v2 built with the new concepts introduced by Radix.
Scrypto-Bonding (Decentralized Exchanges category) — By devmannic
An almost-production-ready Scrypto package for using Bancor-style bonding curves as an AMM on Radix. Created by @devmannic it showcases high-precision math and community packages scrypto-unit and scrypto_statictypes to increase quality and security.
Crowd Sourcing (DAOs & Governance category) — By Kansuler
This is a blueprint example of a crowdsourcing campaign. The creator becomes a fundraiser, while anyone can pledge to the campaign, or recall their pledge. The fundraiser can withdraw the collected XRD if the campaign has ended and the goal is met.
Many of these came from our recent Community DEX Challenge (full disclosure: 0xOmar’s entry and other work was so good that we had to hire him into RDX Works — welcome to the team, Omar!). We’re just about to launch our next challenge for Oracles, and we’ll be following that up with another on Lending in partnership with the excellent hackathon platform DEVPOST.

As mentioned, we have a couple of hackathon challenges coming up (with XRD token and NFT prizes!) and we’ll always be interested in featuring winners on the Ecosystem page as well.
Last, coming up very soon we’ll have the release of Scrypto v0.4 which will for the first time make it possible to build the first prototypes of web front-ends to Scrypto components.
