While our first community chess tournament was a great success — it’s time to scale!
On the 12th May 2022 at 18:00 UTC, the Radix Open Arena chess tournament will take place online, hosted on lichess.org. This tournament will be open to all, bridging the Radix community with the chess world. The time limit (TBC) will be 3min+0s/move, with Berserk enabled.
This is going to be intense!
The first prize for this tournament will be $500. There will be cash prizes for the first few places and for some lucky participants selected at random.
A few more things…
We will be joined by the reigning French Chess Champion, Grandmaster Maxime Lagarde, who has agreed to play in our tournament!
Given the prize money, we can expect other world-class players to join too as the word spreads, and are targeting over 1000 participants.
Not only will the tournament attract some elite players, it will also be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube! Three strong players have already agreed to stream while participating in the event — in both English and French — with over 50k followers between them. We are hoping that more streamers will join us over the coming weeks.
Enticing prizes, high visibility, friendly competition: the Radix Open Arena will certainly be a tournament to remember.
